New York New York, so good they named it twice!


Well mm had a fantastic time delivering two key projects in the city that never sleeps.   


mm was appointed to handle the PR and aspects of the marketing for the Scotland Run and Distilled…Mixed in Scotland which took place as part of the Tartan Week celebrations in New York. 


The Scotland Run took place in Central Park on Sunday 3 April.  In the run up to the event mm secured coverage promoting the event in the Scottish media.  Building a strategy around the key messages of health and enjoyment, mm created a number of media opportunities including the organisation and management of the Scotland Run photo shoot at Edinburgh Castle with Scotland’s Health Minister Andy Kerr. 


The Scottish Executive changed the focus of Tartan Week in 2005.  Contemporary Scottish culture was showcased alongside the traditional image of Scotland’s heritage that has been so prominent at previous Tartan Week events.  Distilled….Mixed in Scotland was one such showcase and mm was there!  Ten of Scotland’s top DJs played five of the coolest clubs in Manhattan to broaden the appeal of Tartan Week to the clubbing generation.  mm secured coverage in the Scottish press and liaised closely with organisers in New York to maximise awareness. 


mm braved the rain of the Scotland Run and the bass of the New York club scene conducting market research to gauge perceptions of Scotland and Tartan Week.   


Working internationally has been a fantastic experience for mm and for the record we never slept either!
