Matthews Marketing Completes Successful Kelvingrove PR Campaign

mm has just completed its 4-month PR contract working alongside Glasgow City Council’s media team.  The Glasgow based company was appointed to assist in the execution of the PR and Press campaign for the £27.9million refurbishment of the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum.

Stephen McLean, PR manager at mm, was top choice for the role. A finalist for the 2005/2006 CIPR Young Communicator of the Year, Stephen worked  with Paul Kane, Glasgow City Council Cultural and Leisure Services Media Officer, as a dedicated press team to deliver the highly successful PR and press campaign.

Jim Clark, Media Manager, Glasgow City Council, said “Matthews Marketing, in partnership with the Council’s own media staff, has delivered way beyond what we anticipated.  Their dedication, professionalism and enthusiasm for the project helped to obtain extensive media coverage that exceeded our expectations.”

The press interest in Kelvingrove was understandably high for a project of this magnitude. The team generated coverage across Channel 4 News, STV, BBC Reporting Scotland, BBC News 24, Radio Clyde, Radio Scotland, SAGA FM, The Times, The Observer, Sunday Times, Daily Telegraph, Independent on Sunday, The Herald and Sunday Herald magazines, The Scotsman and secured substantial coverage in the Evening Times. There was also substantial coverage in local weekly newspapers/magazines and specialist arts publications.
