Matthews Marketing helps launch Mackintosh into 21st Century

The Mackintosh Church at Queen’s Cross provided the setting for the launch of one of the most exciting Charles Rennie Mackintosh initiatives in recent years.  Cutting edge internet and wireless (Wi-Fi) technology, including a world-class internet portal and Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) tour have increased accessibility to the designer’s work bringing the attractions into the digital age.

mm was appointed to handle the PR for the launch and organise the event on behalf of SE Glasgow.

The Mackintosh PDA is a hand-held computer offering instant access to a wealth of information on the celebrated architect, designer and artist in the palm of your hand.

Following the completion of a successful pilot period the Mackintosh Heritage Liaison Group is now available in The Mackintosh Church at Queens Cross, The Mackintosh House, Scotland Street School, The Hill House, House for an Art Lover and The Lighthouse.

This initiative is a great example of how tourism attractions and related services can use broadband to improve the package offered to visitors.

The Mackintosh PDA initiative has been developed through a partnership of Scottish Enterprise Glasgow, Targeting Innovation, and the Mackintosh Heritage Liaison Group.
